Choosing the right color palette can immediately change the look of your home from drab to fab. At Ventura, we pay close attention to the style of a home when selecting paint colors to make sure that the look is cohesive throughout. This is just one of the aspects that makes Ventura different from any other home builder. Let’s take a look at several of our favorite paint colors to use and how to use them within your home.
White is a color that you cannot go wrong with. It brightens up a space and can also make an interior look larger than it really is! White painted brick is probably one of my favorite features on a house. From the exterior of the home, to the bonus room, or an accent on the fireplace, white is a clean and classic color that fits a variety of styles.
If you are afraid of going for a stark white then a perfect greige is the way to go! Greiges are a mix between a grey and a beige that creates the perfect neutral tone. They look great with a variety of color accents on the interior and exterior of your home.
The addition of a brown tone can instantly warm up an exterior or interior. Brown can also provide a great earthy base tone to layer other colors.
Grey is one of the most popular colors that we get asked to use in our houses. It looks great on both the interior and exterior of the home and can lean either warm or cool.
Pops of Color
Adding a pop of color is one of my favorite things to do when designing a house from the inside out. Color adds life and movement to a home and can be added in so many fun ways. Front doors, shutters, kitchen islands, and mud benches are some of my favorite design elements to add a pop of color too. Another important aspect when choosing a bright accent color is looking at a color wheel to see what colors mix well with others. For example, if a brick has red undertones, a nice green tone will complement the brick well. Or if you’re working with a stain color with an orange undertone, a blue accent color can add a nice contrast.
