A change in ceiling type can take your breath away when you enter a room. They can also define the space you’re in and create a feeling for the type of room that it is. At Ventura, we designers take time to create the layout of a home, as well as the treatments above. Here are a few examples of how we make that happen.
Beams
Ceiling beams can give character to a space, while also breaking up the different rooms in a home. This instance uses the elongated beam to start/ separate the kitchen from the living room. The three beams in the kitchen give texture, color and definition to the room. These beams are a focal point that draw your eye from the start of the kitchen all the way to the vent hood.

Cathedral Ceilings and Skylight Openings
The cathedral is a crowd favorite ceiling treatment. This treatment allows the space to be much taller and grander. Ventura will place a beam down the center of the cathedral ceiling to place a fixture in the center, like is shown in this example.
The skylight opening on the left side of the cathedral allows for a beautiful design, while also bringing in an immense amount of natural light. Without this design instance, the natural lighting would only illuminate the lower portions of the room.

Tray Ceiling
The owner’s suite should be the most eye-catching bedroom in the home. A way us designers make that happen is by including a change in ceiling type. In this case, the designer placed stained beams in each corner adding charm and drawing your eye to the center of the room.
