How it works: The Process of Building Your Dream Home

So, you know what to expect when you are building, but how does the process work? I’m glad you asked! You’ve got your pre-approval, your floor plan picked out, your contract signed and a general idea of what you do and do not like. What’s next?

Trust Your Designer

We are dedicated to you and your home building experience, and we want to give you the best quality product for your family to enjoy for years to come! So, we take all of your wants and needs into consideration and take our time when we design your home. We are quick, but we don’t hurry the process. Give us about 45 days to make sure everything is PERFECT and you can expect to see us breaking ground on your lot.

Do Your Homework

Take a drive around some Ventura Homes neighborhoods, snap some photos of things you like, note the address for us and we can pull the exact colors and materials that you prefer. In addition to that, we welcome any photos saved from our Lookbook, Pinterest or Instagram to help us better understand your vision. Then – repeat step 1 and trust your designer to pull it all together for you, better than you could have imagined!

Design Meeting

Now for the fun part! This is when you will meet with your designer and finalize your interior and exterior finishes, plumbing fixtures, hardware and lighting selections. We have your specific client profile in mind during this entire process and offer only what falls within your budget – this makes it easier on you and allows us to be transparent with pricing if you choose to make any upgrades..

Upgrades

Each community has a budget set that already factors in standard pricing for specific hardware, plumbing fixtures and lighting packages, but what if you want to make a change? Say your home’s standard package comes with a stainless steel undermount sink but you’ve been dreaming of that farmhouse sink. No problem! You pay the difference in sink value upfront and we make the change immediately. You’ll never see a hidden cost pop up at closing, like some other companies might surprise you with.

The Waiting Game

We know that this is probably the hardest part, but all you have to do now is wait for your dream home to be completed. At Ventura, we pride ourselves in getting your closing date right where you want it every time. We also love working with local lenders to make sure this process goes smoothly and you’re closing on time.
